Simple question, really: how do you think us gearheads shall pursue our passion 30 years from now, when all the gas runs out?
(Hint: biogas, all the gas really hasn’t run out)

I think there will be some substitute for petrol rather than heading straight for electricity.
If the OPEC nations have their heads screwed on right they should be plowing money into developing a viable option for when their reserves run dry. I saw something interesting about using a solar furnace in a desert somewhere to produce synthetic hydrocarbons.
I reckon that might have some legs as it maintains all the same distribution as fossil fuels.
Plus, it would let me keep running my classics!

Let’s try 100 years. Assuming our government still lets us burn hydrocarbons and the insurance agencies still let us drive our own cars, there will be plenty of gasoline left for us gearheads, since the masses will have converted to electric cars by then. If gasoline is in short supply, CNG or LNG will be what we combust. Hell, by then they have finally figured out hydrogen power...

Exactly, there will be other fuels available and I am sure we will have man made advancements. In the meantime I am sure we will learn how to play with whatever new tech comes out. I
learned about hybrid-electric tech
recently and it is not overly complicated. I am sure as it becomes more prevalent there will be more performance variants and mods.
